Krypto Security and Ithaki Charity Organization Help Patients with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease

Krypto Volunteerism: A Helping Hand to the Ones in Need

Caring for others has always been an essential part of Krypto’s spirit. Offering a helping hand to the ones in need and giving back to the community is something that fills our hearts with great pleasure. So every once in a while, the members of the Krypto Family get together for an activity that will make a difference to the lives of other people.

Ithaki Charity Organisation for People with Dementia

Founded in Limassol in 2011, Ithaki Charity Organisation is an NGO with a two-fold mission: a) to educate the public regarding the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and b) to contribute to the improvement of existing means and methods of patient treatment and relief.

The volunteers and professionals involved in this admirable organisation struggle on a daily basis to offer a better life to the patients and their family members. Ithaki’s specialized day care center is a place where patients suffering from dementia can spend their day, receiving treatment, socializing and enhancing their cognitive skills. At the same time, volunteers and professionals of Ithaki Charity Organisation educate patients, as well as their caregivers and families, offering them substantial psychosocial support. Further than that, the organisation’s networking efforts help patients and family members to be informed and connect with all relevant institutions, helping them to receive the highest possible services with regards to their disease.

Brightening the Day

On Friday, 4th October 2019, the Krypto Family gathered together to contribute to the significant work of Ithaki Organisation. Due to limited staff on that day, the organisation needed our help to carry out their socializing activities for patients with dementia.

So we decided that it was time for a day trip! A short “getaway” to the mountains, where the cool breeze, the shining sun and that amazing woodsy smell would rejuvenate us all! We rented a bus, hit the road and headed to the beautiful countryside of Cyprus, where we grilled delicious food and had an incredibly enlightening time with these people! Each one of the patients had something unique to share with us, making this a once-in-a-lifetime, transformational experience. It was our pleasure to brighten these people’s day. They definitely brightened ours as well! Thank you Ithaki Organisation for giving us this opportunity!
